Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for assistance from MileStone Nonprofit Org Inc., applicants must meet the following requirements: 

1. Parental Status: Applicants must be a single mother (widowed, divorced, separated, or filing for divorce), pregnant, and serve as the custodial parent or legal guardian of at least one child under the age of 18 (or still in high school). 

2. Residency: Applicants must reside in LA County to qualify for our services. 

3. Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate a financial need to receive assistance from our organization. This may involve providing proof of income, employment status, or other relevant financial information. 

4. Documentation: Applicants are required to submit the following documents to support their application: 

• Intake application 
• An affidavit hardship letter explaining their current circumstances and need for assistance.  
• Pay stubs (if applicable) to verify income and employment status. 
• Proof of school enrollment for children in the household (if applicable). 
• A valid form of identification (ID).  
• Child’s birth certificate 
• Rental or mortgage agreements to demonstrate housing status and expenses. 
• Mortgage/rent delinquency letter, eviction notice, or past due bills – if applicable 

5. Legal status: depending on the funding source and related mandates, legal status may differ, and some requirements may vary.  

Meeting these eligibility criteria ensures that our organization can effectively serve those who need our support the most and provide tailored assistance to single mothers and their families in LA County.
